New Assistant Manager for Bruichladdich Distillery

The Directors of Bruichladdich Distillery are delighted to announce the promotion of Allan Logan to assistant manager.

Allan (26) joined the company in 2001 when the distillery was renovated after being closed for six years and was involved in the renovations and repairs.

Subsequently, he has been involved in all aspects of production, joining as a warehouseman before moving on to mashing and becoming the youngest distiller ever.

‘Big Allan’ as he is known will work closely with distillery manager Duncan McGillivray, taking on some of his daily responsibilities.

Production director Jim McEwan said: “I am confident that all our staff will be pleased for Allan who has shown in his five years with the company that he is a dedicated young man who has shown a superb work ethic in all the various areas and tasks he has been assigned to.”

CEO Mark Reynier added: “In an industry where ‘dead man’s shoes’ is more the order of the day when it comes to promotion, I am very pleased for Allan as he sets out on the next stage of his career.

“Allan is a charming, level-headed, mountain of a man. Always most courteous, helpful and eager to please. He is a great asset to our team.”
