Irish Whiskey ist heutzutage die dynamischste Sorte der Spirituosen, die in Tschechien importiert werden, nachdem es in den 90er Jahren einem Boom bei Scotch und Bourbon gegeben hat. Der größte tschechische Spirituosenhersteller Stock, der zum deutschen Eckes Konzern gehört, vertreibt Tullamore Dew Whiskey exklusiv in Tschechien und der Slowakei. Im letzten Jahr hat Stock davon 270.000 Liter verkauft, was einer Steigerung von 27% im Vergleich zum Vorjahr bedeutet.
Irish whiskey beats Scotch, bourbon in Czech Republic
Plzen, June 12 (CTK) – Irish whiskey is the most dynamic type of spirits imported to the Czech Republic after a boom in Scotch and bourbons in the 1990s, Richard Sveda, sales director at Czech spirits producer Stock, told CTK today.
Stock, the largest Czech spirits maker, is the exclusive distributor of Tullamore Dew whiskey for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Sveda said the Czech Republic was the fastest-growing market for this brand in the world and one of the world’s five largest markets, with year-on-year growth in sales reaching almost 70 percent this year.
Last year, Stock sold 270,000 litres of Tullamore Dew, a growth of 27 percent year-on-year.
In total, Stock, a unit of German concern Eckes, sold 23.16 million litres of spirits in 2005. Its sales amounted to CZK 1.633 billion.
